’sto film - di cui abbiamo già presentato una breve rassegna - mi incuriosisce proprio, se non altro perché diretto dall’ex-skinhead Shane Meadows che per di più ha vissuto anche la fase di degenerazione ultra-razzista (qualcuno si limiterebbe a dire “politica”… beh, negli anni ‘70 e ‘80 gli unici tentativi di strumentalizzare gli skins vennero da destra, ricordiamolo) del nostro stile. In rete ho scovato un altro articolo interessante, stavolta in inglese, se ne avete voglia dategli uno sguardo.

This is England, to be shown at The Times BFI London Film Festival on Tuesday, was given a standing ovation and a special award at its European premiere in Rome. The film tells the story of 12-year-old Shaun (Thomas Turgoose) in a bleak coastal town, who turns to local skinhead leaders as substitutes for his father, killed in the Falklands War.
